Guitar cable design is a compromise between signal quality, size, durability, aesthetics and cost. Generally speaking, these elements are opposed to each other and the compromise in a final product can be a fine balance. In the end, physics rules. You can’t get something for nothing. With our new series of instrument cables we've taken the same approach as we have always taken with our handmade instruments, to bring together the finest available components and know how in order to provide you with the best possible product.
Our two levels of cable are the Elara and the Calista.
Sound –
• These cables sound great with both guitar and bass. Compare a 20’ Fodera cable with 10’ of most anything else in the price range.
Feel –
• Having a nice feel is very important to a guitar cable. We feel that our cables lie nicely on the stage and handle well for a pleasant experience.
Components and Manufacture –
• We use G&H connectors for the ends on both cables. They are a small, USA-based manufacturer with the finest quality connectors we’ve found.
• All our components are made in the USA and rather than stamping them out in some off-shore factory we hand-assemble them in the USA. We feel that gives us the highest quality and control over the manufacture.
• Our cables meet the new RoHS standards for hazardous materials to be acceptable by the worldwide markets. Our packaging is modest and recyclable to have a low environmental impact.
Elara -
• The Elara has highly refined signal transmission characteristics due to the quality internal construction and terminations. It is an optimized cable that will work equally well with bass and guitar as well as line-level applications. We feel that it will easily compete with some of the famous brands at their price point while being higher quality, longer lasting, sounding and feeling better. Ample high quality copper, plenty of shielding, very low capacitance, Kevlar reinforcement and an internal electrostatic "drain" make for a durable and great sounding cable.
